Welcome
Aledo is a quiet, friendly and safe rural community of 3,620 people that is a wonderful place to visit or live. We are located in western Illinois, 180 miles west of Chicago and a short 35 minute drive south of the Illinois/Iowa "Quad Cities" of Rock Island, Moline, Davenport, and Bettendorf.
Aledo offers many amenities that may convince you that Aledo is a great place to raise your family. We have excellent schools with a 95%+ high school graduation rate five years and running. For your convenience, there's the downtown historic shopping district, a Wal-Mart and all the government services that come from being the County Seat. Healthcare and retirement needs are met with a local hospital, two nursing homes and a 66-unit assisted living facility. For a health lifestyle, Aledo has a fully functional YMCA that includes an indoor swimming pool, track, weight room and newly renovated and expanded cardio room.
Whether you are considering a visit to Aledo for one of our fun community events, such as Rhubarb Fest (first weekend in June), a performance in our Band Shell (weekly summer entertainment), or an afternoon at the Bluegrass Festival (Labor Day weekend), you will enjoy your time in Aledo. If you are considering a more permanent stay, Aledo offers affordable housing, great schools and a warm friendly community environment that makes us a special place to call home.
Whether you are looking for an enjoyable day trip or seeking a safe, wholesome and quality place to live and raise your family, make a point to visit Aledo soon.
